Dedicated To The Memory Of James A. Steptoe

This time in December every year,
I wish that you were still here,
I know this is hard to say,
But we'll make it through another day,
Because no matter how far the view,
I still look up to you

December gets colder when you're not around,
I know that you're in the clouds,
I just wish you could come back down.
So breathe in and out,
Take this one day at a time,
Cause no matter how far the view,
I still look up to you

I can't explain in words,
How much this still hurts,
It's warmer where you are,
I just wish it wasn't so far,
Everyday it's the same,
It's still as hard,
But no matter how far the view,
I'll always look up to you

I'll never forget the day,
My heart fell from my chest,
I said goodbye,
And laid you to rest,
I still remember your face,
The joy you brought this place,
And this is for the best,
Your memory I'll never forget

This time in December every year,
I wish that you were still here,
This is hard to say,
But I'll be okay,
Cause no matter how far the view,
I'll still look up to you
I wrote this for my Uncle Jim RIP January 1st 2005
